Understanding EVRI Tracking: What Happens When Your Parcel is in transit.
When your parcel is in transit, its status will typically show as "on its way," indicating that EVRI has processed your parcel and it is on its way to your delivery depot. Normally, this process takes around 2 working days, but occasional delays can extend it to up to 5 working days.
However, it's essential to note that "in transit"or ‘’on its way’’ doesn't guarantee arrival on a particular day; rather, it signifies various stages of the journey, such as leaving the collection warehouse, traveling between hubs, or heading towards the destination warehouse.
The transit times hinge on several factors, including the distance between the collection and delivery addresses and the selected service. For Evri, we use a service call Light & Large which is specialized for oversized parcels and this is usually a two working days delivery service once in transit, however due to the nature of the parcels, it can take up to 5 working days.
It's crucial to understand that the delivery time provided during booking serves as an estimate. The actual transit time may vary by a few days from the initial estimate.
Reasons why your parcel may still be in transit:
There are numerous circumstances that could contribute to transit delays, potentially explaining why the tracking status hasn't changed:
Changes in the order: Requesting a destination address change may disrupt the planned delivery schedule, particularly if the package is already in transit. Processing such changes could introduce delays.
Wrong or incomplete address: This is a common cause of undeliverable shipments. To mitigate this issue, always verify that the provided information is accurate and if you have previously experienced delivery issues with other parcels, it would be beneficial to add a note before placing the order or to email us with some delivery instructions which we can pass on to Evri to facilitate the delivery.
Weather conditions or traffic: External factors like traffic congestion, adverse weather conditions, or holidays might impede transportation and delivery timelines.
Lost package: A parcel may remain "stuck in transit" for several days if it's lost or routed to the wrong warehouse.
If your shipment's status remains "in transit" without updates for over 48 hours, it could indicate one of the aforementioned issues. In such cases, we recommend reaching out to us so we can initiate a query with EVRI to investigate the situation further.
